Gas Fired Warm Air on the Wirral
What is warm air heating? It is the delivery of warm air from a central fan and gas burner unit, through duct work to points of exit in rooms throughout the property. This effective way of heating provides quick response times and stable room temperatures, without the need for radiators or pipework. Domestic hot water can be provide by a small extra gas burner usually within the same unit.
Are replacement units available and how long do they take? Like for like warm air unit replacement can usually be completed within one day if you live in Wirral.
Our existing flue does not adhere to the current regulations, what options do we have? Replacing an existing conventionally flued warm air unit, with a new fanned flue system can often eliminate the conventional flueing problem that may exist with proximity and the provision of combustion air the likely reasons. These new warm air units are non-condensing but efficiency would be raised due to new controls/and flue system.
Can you get condensing units? High efficiency warm air units are now available with or without domestic water heaters. Field trials of these units have shown a reduction of gas consumption of up to 28%.
Can a combination boiler be used? Using a combination boiler with an interface unit can be used to deliver instantaneous hot water and warm air heating through existing ducts. This system can be employed to support a part wet system via radiators in for example an extended property.
